  Child Crisis Center

Mission Statement

The Child Crisis Center is committed to preventing child abuse and neglect.  We accomplish this by support and strengthening families through education and intervention, providing a safe environment for children to heal and grow, and raising community awareness.

A Brief Background

The Child Crisis Center was established in 1981 as a community-based organization by a small group of volunteers and has been a safe haven for children in crisis situations for more than 29 years.  Since it’s inception, CCC has sheltered nearly 12,400 children and served more than 19,700 individuals at it’s Family Resource Center.  In addition to Shelter & Family support services,  which are available 24 hours a day, there is a 42-bed emergency shelter where children from birth to age 11 who have been abused , abandoned, neglected or whose well-being is in jeopardy, are offered 24-hour care in a safe, home-like environment.
